Manlius Amour was abandoned as a child. He had to make his own way in the wild, scrounging whatever he could from garbage and vegetation. On his 10th birthday, he found himself surrounded by a pack of wild hogs. He was starving, and could barely run. Eventually, he found himself cornered, and cried out for anyone to help him, to save him. Just then, a large spear came hurtling through the air. It shot clean through one of the hogs, and stuck in another. A giant of a man leaped through the trees, and began demolishing the swine. After he was done, he spoke to Manlius, telling him of the Tenants of David, and of the Strength that could be achieved by following the Great God, Fortis. Manlius became the man's disciple, spending long years traveling with him, until, one day, the man perished in combat with a demon. That fight would be the source of Manlius's shame, for when the time came, he ran, too afraid to do anything. It was his fault that his master died. So now, he travels through the lands, urging people to man up, trying to find some way to assuage his guilt.

Scattered Diary Entries of Maurice Wirt Caulaincourt
Day 1 (Maurice wrote this entry at the age of 8 years and 289 days.)
Been accepted as a recruit in the Forces of Chaos. The drill sergeant almost threw me out of the camp because of my age. When another soldier told him that I'm topping almost every physical examinations, the sergeant's almost on his knees praising me.
Day 2
First training and military exercises. Too easy to make any more detail. More of a child's play in the Caulaincourt manor.
Day 5
Surprised that I've ascended my first rung in the military hierarchy. After leading my troops against an Order espionage platoon, got promoted again. And that's after 10 watches (hours). Are they lacking officers?
Day 6
Another promotion, ascended to Organizer of Missions. First time someone stopped my tracks on ascending another rank. Met an interesting person on the way back.
Day 9
Another war with the Forces of Order. Ascended three ranks due to a regional victory. Now Colonel of the 3rd Regiment. Now I know why they are lacking officers. We lost almost every war.
Day 10
Stopped a large ambuscade from the Forces of Order. Hypothesis proven on how they are winning every war.
(to be continued)
